Works - various commercial and non-commercial work done by me
This page is currently on a vacation. (Beginning at 23.11.2007.) I've stopped it because of lack of the time needed to update it. You can find my current occupation and other stuff at the front page of this site. This page was replaced by my photo works, as photography is becoming more and more important way to express myself. I've decided to keep this page online, as many people liked its contents, and I hope you will like the new one even better!
On these pages I have listed several of my larger commercial projects and some of the non-commercial projects. This isn't some kind of a comprehensive list of my previous job employments but rather a list of thing I did in my past. You can, however, find out details about my previous work experiences by having a look at my CV.
You can find most of the written stuff here.
The periodic system of elements - PSE, http://www.pse.pbf.hr/ is my biggest projects on which I am constantly working. I started out in 1999., and it got published on the internet in the year of 2002. I have received many awards for it.
Work done by me:
Photography Top of the page
I enjoy all things visual. You can find several of my best sample pictures following this text. If you wish, you can also have a look at my SXC profile.
If you would like to publish any one of these photographs, please contact me.

Web pages Top of the page
All of the web pages I do are very user friendly, and that is one of the main characteristics of my work. borislavdopudja.com is a good example of this, as these web pages are perhaps the best combination of textual representation (XHTML and CSS) and minimalist design I have ever done. The visuals have been reduced to a minimum, so one would be able to surf these pages without downloading the pictures. The pictures have been added only as a supplement to the general looks of these web pages. Even the sequence in which the pictures download is something very different from what you can usually find on web pages. The entire structure of the web pages, along with all the text will download before the visual elements (pictures and backgrounds).
Periodic system of elements - PSE - 1999. - today
The internet version of my periodic system of elements is my largest and longest project ever. The first version was done in 1999. and it got published on the internet in 2002. I have received several awards for it. Several newspaper articles have been published on the subject and there was a coverage on national television.

OPTO CONTACT Web pages - 2006.
This is site I have made following specific requirements. OPTO CONTACT is second largest Croatian hard and semi-hard contact lens manufacturer and they wanted site that is good looking, usable and accessible for people with weak eyesight in the same time. Site validates by AA+ and W3C recommendations.

RIVA GRUPA d.o.o. Web pages and online product catalogue - 2005.
It took me several months to design these web pages. It was an important project where the key goal was to properly represent all the aspects of the aforementioned firm. It includes a very detailed list of oils and lubricants, and a guide on how to use them.

TITAN d.o.o. Web pages - 2004.
TITAN d.o.o. is a large graphic design studio from Dugo Selo. The web pages were a sort of an presentation for the firm. There are only a handful web pages that are aligned to the right side of the screen (as you can see on the pictures below, you can also follow the link which will lead to the most recent version of these web pages). The design solutions I implemented when making these web pages are ideal. The choice of colors and lines correspond perfectly with the logo and the presentation of the firm's line of work.

mastodont - 2003.
Mastodont web pages, or rather www.mastodont.tk, which was the web address while the web page was still active, were in a way a prequel to borislavdopudja.net. What makes those web pages unique is the unique approach on how the texts were done, what design riles had been used and how I managed to completely avoid the use of all visual elements. Mastodont was meant to be some sort of an eZine. One of my good friends Leon Obadić drew 3 pictures of a mastodont for me, a mammoth whom I named Kreon. You can see these drawings here: mastodont Kreon 1, mastodont Kreon 2, mastodont Kreon 3. Although the site itself was extremely good looking I decided to put them offline due to reasons of technical nature. All of the texts that could be found on long gone mastodont web pages can now be found on these web pages, look under texts (they are currently being processed).

Ecstasy - 2000.
Ecstasy is actually my thesis (my thesis statement), but reworked so it can be published on the internet. Synthetic narcotics are very popular in the world today, and ecstasy is one of the most sought after synthetic drugs.

IUSGS - 1999.
"The influence of urban surroundings on the groundwater systems" is a research paper I took part in (microbiological and chemical research) and for which I designed internet based promotional web pages. These web pages have won a second place on Europe @t school. The project was supported by the Council of Europe, European Commission, Parliament of Europe, and the European Cultural Foundation. I also designed the web pages for a Polish school.

Miscellaneous WEB projects
I designed many web pages, and it makes no sense to list them all here.
Most of these web pages aren't online any more, like the web pages having to do with books students read in high school, UFOs, chemical analysis laboratory web pages, computer science laboratory web pages etc. There are also many web pages being "under construction" (and most of them are subject to a non disclosure agreement
.
Art Top of the page
I have always found peace in working with wood. All kinds of work which you have to do with your bare hands bring me peace. I find great pleasure in turning an ordinary worthless piece of something into an object of art. All the things that I crafted, I gave away, and I do not regret being so wasteful.
The people who got some of those hand crafted things may consider themselves lucky
I managed to take photographs of few of those things I made.
Flower- 2005.
A flower made entirely out of a single piece of copper wire (about 7-8 cm high). It may sound incredible, but it took me almost a month to make this thing and to paint it.

Soapcut - 2005.
When I look at it... I think to myself... when I fall in love I really fall, LOL
Miscellaneous projects Top of the page
The projects listed here couldn't be placed into any of the other categories.
Designing computer systems
I have designed and implemented several computer systems. Most of them have pretty much the same basic structure so I haven't listed them all here in chronological order etc. I will describe the basics of what I do; each computer system has a central server with a raid storage backup system. I put all the basic information, bookkeeping databases, basic backups, mail server, anti virus definition server, backup server and a lot of different applications on the server machine. One other machine in the network is a router/DHCP/firewall machine based on LINUX operating system, which gives each computer in the local network a unique address and also protects each of these computers from various intrusions (from the outside world – the internet). Client computers use main server for storing data and I optionally add a router modem for easy access to the internet before the firewall (which is installed on the LINUX machine). The entire network operates self sufficiently, the backup is done automatically in a star based pattern simultaneously on all the computers in the network, disk defragmentation is also an automated task along with all the routine processes.
The making of a computer blueprint used to restore Oktogon - 2004.
Oktogon (address: Palača prve hrvatske štedionice - "The palace of first Croatian savings bank", Ilica 5, Zagreb) has a huge transparent dome in its central part, which has two access points which have their roofs plated with decorative glass panels. In the center one can see a repeating pattern which is lined with a complex coronet. The problem was in the fact that all of these plates had a different pattern and were also of different sizes. My job was to design a new pattern, which would be continuous and very similar to the old one, and to correctly represent the form which had to be translated onto each plate by the process of silk screening. Each carpet was 20 m long. Each one has 40.000 curves (which is a lot). When the job was done, I ran the calculation for each of the steps on a monster of a computer, and each single calculation took 10 minutes to complete.
