With the city growing an ecology system wich influences the production and social spheres of the city is being formed. One of them is nature. The others is nature technogent sphere wich is constanly influenced by people, and it is the way to resourses draining, to accomulation of industrial and domestic draff, disappearance or cutting down flora and fauna, changing microclimate, hydrological and hydrogeological regimes, break chemical structure and the therminal regime of air, water and soil.

The air of St.-Petersburg suffers from the waste from about one thousand industrial factories, wec, borler rooms and moto transport. The main dirty substances which are produced to the air dust, double oxide of sulphur, oxide of carbon, oxides of nitrogen, carbonichydrogen. That is the greatest part of the waste (95%).

After 1990 the percent of air pollution got lower. But it didn’t happen because of maesures taken to save nature. Thanks to the cutting down volume of production. The average level of air pollution is less than that in other cities of Russia with population more than one million people. Though one index – double oxide of nitrogen is violated twice a norm and is higher than the maen one all over the country is.

St.-Petersburg isn’t just a place where a lot of people live and work any llonger. Modern city is a powerful system which changes enviroment within itself and for from its borders it changes almost all components of enviroment – air, water, soil and even climate. Changing of some nature’s factors constantly provokes changing of the others and all this changes flora, fauna and man medical and ecological prosperity of regions, indices of mortality and morbiolity of these regions depend on ecological situation of the city. Scientists discovered dependeney of illness of organs of breath heart vessel discases cancer and general duration of man’s lifetime from the condition of nature. Therefore all of us must take care of our environment and every citizen of St.-Petersburg and all city’s population take an interest in it.
